A senator has informed us that the Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and two other All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts are secretly finalising their plans to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
The APC was formed in February 2013 and quickly attracted disgruntled elements in the PDP that included then senator Saraki, Dogara, Aminu Tambuwal, then Speaker of the House of Representatives and now governor of Sokoto State, and then governor of Kano State Rabiu Kwankwaso and now a senator.

These ex-PDP politicians are, according to senator that doesn’t want to be named, fed up with how President Muhammadu Buhari is governing without consulting them. They allege that all Buhari’s decisions are made by a “kitchen cabinet” that includes former “Kaduna Mafia” kingpin and the president’s uncle Mallam Mamman Daura, Ahmed Joda, who headed the president’s transition committee, Nasir el-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State, and Abba Kyari, the president’s Chief of Staff.

Kyari was best man at the wedding of Geoffrey Onyeama, the new foreign minister. That link got Onyeama on the ministerial list at the expense of those that contributed to getting Buhari into office. Daura was head of New Nigerian newspapers, then the paper of the northern establishment, and is the “godfather” of Kyari.

The source claimed that Kwankwaso’s return to the PDP is a “done deal” and the three others’ return will be finalised shortly.
