An eye witness on board an Arik Airlines plane that landed this evening in Port Harcourt and insiders at the Presidency in Aso Rock have confirmed that 5bn naira ($25.1m) was flown into the state capital this evening to make sure that legislative (s)election rerun in Rivers State is won by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
We reported earlier that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) claimed that the acting Director-General of the Niger Delta Development Corporation (NDDC) Ibim Seminatari had delivered 7bn naira ($35.1m) to the hotel room of Minister for Transport Rotimi Amaechi.
Rivers State is currently under siege as residents wait in trepidation for the vote tomorrow, with reports that over 30 people have been killed by gunmen, and thousands of soldiers and police officers deployed across the state.
